Srinagar, Nov 18 (KNO): Stating that Kashmir cannot be punished for the failures that led to the Delhi blast, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday raised concerns over Nowgam Police Station blast, saying that untrained personnel should not have handled the recovered material. Mehbooba, while speaking to reporters at SIA Inspector Asrar’s home, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said Nowgam blast reflects a larger operational failure that must be investigated. “The decision to store the material inside a police station in a densely populated area needs answers”, she said. PDP Chief said responsibility should be fixed on those who made critical decisions that led to loss of life, adding that the public should be told the facts in full. Mehbooba said Kashmir is already under heavy stress and the collective punishment of common people is not acceptable. She said the administration should avoid measures that add to fear and uncertainty. She said the families of the victims need complete support. She said the officers who lost their lives should receive the highest honours for their service—(KNO)
